"Powder Matt" Mosteller is one of those people who seems to have been part of the ski world forever. I first met Matt many moons ago at RED Mountain during POWDER Magazine's "The Gathering," and we've crossed paths ever since through Bomb Snow, Bomb Flow, and more than a few adventures around the ski industry. Matt has spent decades in the ski and outdoor industries, including years as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Resort Experience for Resorts of the Canadian Rockies, working with resorts like Fernie, Kicking Horse, and Kimberley, and helping tell the story of British Columbia's legendary Powder Highway. He's a lifelong skier, writer, storyteller, and someone who has spent a huge part of his life thinking about mountain culture and the communities that surround it. These days, he's putting that experience into KORE Outdoors, a nonprofit he co-founded to support outdoor gear makers, entrepreneurs, local manufacturing, and jobs in the Kootenays. On this episode of Influence This, Matt and I catch up on the old days, talk skiing, the changing outdoor industry and mountain towns, and dig into what he's building with KORE Outdoors.
